Wheres the best place to get a color consulation for eye and lip makeup?

I would like to get a professional color consultaion to know what makeup I should where. I have very fair skin and green eyes with blond hair... where is the best place to get a consulation that wont make me feel ULTRA pressed to buy VERY thing they sell? Thanks! ( and my icon pic is incorrect I dont really have brown hair I just liked that pic! )Wheres the best place to get a color consulation for eye and lip makeup?
i have a few suggestions for you:





sephora is great as it does not carry just one line and they can show you many options.





mac is very reasonable and has the largest range of options in one line.





go to a highend department store like nordtrom or saks and go to the make up counters that catch your eye...i recommend laura mercier, bobbi brown, nars, stila, and chanel.





most of these places will give you some take home products to try...probably not eyeshadow but make will cut you a peice of lipstick to try at home.





if you do not have access to this and want to continuous get new ideas, gey instyle magazine as the back is full of how to suggestions and ideas.Wheres the best place to get a color consulation for eye and lip makeup?
I like Ulta for that kind of thing. They take the time to explain the colors and application to you. And its a very informal store, nothing's horribly expensive and I don't think they have commission but I'm not sure.
Sephora or MAC, both of these stores are usually in any mall!

Go to a Sephora or Ulta or MAC store.
Go to your local department store,and ask the consultant on the Dior counter(i say Dior because that is the cosmetics that i use,You can take your pick)Could she recommend the products for your skin and coloring,She will be happy to give you a consultation with no pressure to buy,Se will be able to give you samples of there range and all the advice that you need.
well u can go 2 macys,dillards,nordstrom,gothchalks*,or any store like that n they'll help u but most of them are not professionals ok some did study for makeup but not all of them but i think they'll help u but i think its best if u go 2 the MAC counter cause ones i went 2 lancome n this girl did my eyes n they were terrible i pertended i liked it but i do my makeup even betr then them n am not a professional or work for any of those places so u need 2 watch out i like MAC betr but some artist dnt do thigs rigth sometimes cause am an NC25 foundation for mac n some artist b trying 2 give me NC44,NC42or NC37,NC35NC30 u have 2 watch out because if usr skin is a lil oily l8r on the color gets darker n then wehen u get ur makeup done by them they use the smallerst amount of makeup ok so gud luck
i think all the answers have been right so far-but always go to someone who you think looks good-if you wouldn't be caught dead walking out of the house with her hair and makeup don't go to her to do yours! also-try to go during a quiet shopping period-like a weekday at ten am-there won't be as much pressure on you to hurry it along and you can really focus on what you're doing-custom is to buy something-but just maybe the lipstick and mascara is enough-look at what you really like about your face and buy that-they don't really expect you to buy every product they use on you
Well everyone is going to try to sell you something.However most of the ladies working in the department store makeup counters are actually trained in Cosmotology so remember,you can always ask for a makeup and then not buy.Say you need to wear it and let your friend,sister Mom whoever see it.Then just dont come back.Believe me it happens everyday.
Mary Kay trains all their people to do this. You can also get good hints at your local high end store that sells Lancome or other high end cosmetics
Sephora does makeovers. They have all kinds of materials so you can do your own makeup as well, and just see what looks good on you, or you could get a makeup person to do it for you. Also, department stores do great makeovers! Just trying makeup on at either one of these stores and seeing what works is the trick. Good luck!
Find a mary kay consaultant. They are great with color and will give you a free facial with there chat with you. Most of them aren't pushy. I understand your problem. I am so white people call me a china doll I have blond hair and green eyes. In the winter time I am always asked if I am feeling ok because I am so white.





When it come to make up for my skin I like light pinks they give my skin color and look very natural I sometimes use green lightly to bring out my eye color. natural colors work well to like browns and tans. You can go to the Mary Kay web site and it will also tell you great colors for you skin.





The reason why I know is I used to sell Mary Kay. I loved the produts and how nice everyone was. No body seemed pushy but they were very informative.

Sephora is good because they don't stick to one line of product, Origins is very natural looking and MAC if you are a little younger and can do the more trendy stuff...I know that Clinique will do a makeover but you have to buy something...I really like Stila and they will usually give you samples before you buy...
I found the best place for me was the beauty supply store that had a makeup-artist working there.
Try going to an Aveda store or salon. They have very nice colors...very natural looking. Just call them up ahead of time and say I'd like to come in for a makeup consultation. In my experience, they are not quite as pushy as department store makeup counter salespeople who are obsessed with making as much commission as possible. Good luck!
