Hi, my dog is a husky mix and had very black everything until recently... what could be causing this? Will it change back? Is there anything i should do?My dog's nose, lips, and eye rims are turning pink! Help!?
It's very common for dogs to lose pigmentation in their nose and the rim of their eyes as well as their ';lips'; and paw pads as they age or sometimes temporarily in the winter months. It can turn to shades of pink or can lose pigmentation all together and turn a white colour.
It usually isn't a sign of any adverse health defects or malnutrition, just something that happens. If however you have noticed that the areas (and/or surrounding areas) have developed flakiness, redness, soreness or lesions, you should bring your pet to the vet. If in doubt, I always encourage clients to come in with their pets to make sure ;)
In terms, of what you can do about it... nothing really, it's just natural.My dog's nose, lips, and eye rims are turning pink! Help!?
I have Malteses and they had beautiful black noses but now are fading to brown. It is natural pigment discoloration. Don't know that anything can be done for this.
Only an exam from a vet could really answer this....it could be something as simple as him having a cold....or it could be allergies, or something more serious......like I said.....take him to your vet to be sure.
rush that dog to a vet i have no idea it could be anything
You don't say how old your dog is, but sometimes these things occur when a dog has an autoimmune problem or a thryoid imbalance.
If you see skin problems - dry or scaly coat - they are probably related.
Not much you can do about the loss of pigmentation, but the overall health of the dog can be supported better by making sure they are on a food that has anti-oxidants in it, and also by putting them on omega-3 fish oil, which is a food rather than a drug, and will improve the skin as well as help his immune system.
You have to get him to the vet!!!!it could be a very dangerous disease!!!!!
Somethings not right. I would take him to your vet right away. Good Luck
It sounds like he is having an allergic reaction. Thats what happens to my five year old lab mix. He has a flea allergy and whenever he has a reaction his nose will be red, watery eyes, eye boogers, irritated ears and itching.
You need to rush your dog to the vet ASAP!
u should take him to a vet to have him diagnosed.
that's very unusual, and could be a symptom of various problems %26gt;.%26lt;;
Don't wait this sounds like an emergency thats not normal he/she could be having a allergic reation to something or a weird bug could have bit him LEAVE NOW
